Assumptions
We must never assume that people will be happy about us doing something for them
But we must also never assume that they will take offence to it
For in assuming and acting upon our own assumptions we take away a person’s self and opportunity for personal choice
Rather we must lay aside our own selves – our agendas, our thoughts, our beliefs, the way we would ‘do’ things, and offer the other person the chance to be who they are; bringing their own passions, ideas and ways into play
